THE OFFICIAL Global Warming Links thread
I thought it would be easier to have one thread for links of articles... pro and con. On the "con" side, I (and others hopefully) will post threads of RIDICULOUS claims and articles to show the media slant towards creating alarmism and public action.  And the tendency to blame EVERYTHING on global warming, without even applying the scientifc method!!!

First con:  Climate change blamed for changed migration habits of cockroaches in Austalia (even though the new cockroaches were brought in by small numbers on suitcases, etc... and are only now starting to breed in large numbers.... just as has happened with many other non-native species, including snakes in the past... but now we can blame global warming?)  http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200703/s1871398.htm

RE: THE OFFICIAL Global Warming Links thread
Do you think Al Gore will accept the challenge to debate the science of his claims?  (Of course he won't... those who use propaganda seldom put themselves where they have to actually defend their claims in an open and free debate... they prefer to stage everything so it APPEARS that way, but it is always controlled).

Here's a good one about the impossiblity or meaninglessness of even calculating a "global temperature." http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/200...101129.htm

A debate on "the question that our effect on climate is not dangerous."

That's not a question. It's a statement.

Doug,

Do these belong in the "con" category?

Global Warming Impact on Utah

UN Panel Issues Stark Climate Change Warning

BTW, what goes in the "pro" side?  Articles that extoll the positive benefits that may result from global warming?  Like lower heating bills?

Now some scientists are saying the UN Panel report has been watered down...so while some like Doug might accuse this group of creating alarmism, scientists are coming forth to say that it didn't go far enough.  Where should we file these, Doug?  Pro or con?

RE: THE OFFICIAL Global Warming Links thread
Hey man... if global warming is happening, howcome we will hit an ALL-TIME cold record for the month of April tonight?  Last night, all my azaleas and flowers bit the dust.  I dug up and brought my strawberries and tomato plants inside.  But my hebs have started coming up (8 different kinds), and I bet tonight kills them.  Seems like people focus on places where it is a little warmer than average while ignoring the cold temps.  The average warming has been less than one degree F over the past 100 years.  You think we should trust computer models?  Did you read the article about the Hurricane dude?   He predicts that oceans will COOL over the next 5-10 years.  If that happens, will people be willing to admit that global warming is a myth, or will they search for another illogical excuse to explain it?

I repeat... I do not doubt the earth is warming.  But I am VERY skeptical about the alarmism and dire predictions, in order to make $ and increase taxes and government power.  If Al Gore is for real, he should DIVEST all investments in carbon offset companies, and anything else having to do with global warming.  Sheister.  He has OBVIOUS conflicts of interest here.  Especially since he's not "walking the walk."
