Fitness Diary Round 2

Cool Fitness Diary Round 2
Well, I have to register a loss on round 1. Thumbsdown I got started OK, but events and circumstances during that first week disrupted my fragile momentum before it really had a chance to take root. Sooo, as far as the points system goes, I'm gonna make it if I reach -30 points in any round that's a loss for that round. If I can get to plus 10 that's a win. So that's the game for now anyway. Each successful day that I stick to the program is a point to me, and each incident where I blow it is a fine of minus 10 points. On round 1 I got up to +3 points, but had enough infractions to send me out the back door. Sooo, let the game continue.

It's Wed Jan 31st today and I've done my exercise already this morning. My weight is 208.5 this morning and my score this round is +1 point. This morning I did abs, pushups, steps and some stretching.

Cheers,

RE: Fitness Diary Round 2
Todays weight = 209 Eek
Current score = 2

I missed a couple days due to a difficult work schedule. I'm putting in 60 plus hours this week at work and I've just been beat. I'm still battling to get it done though, this AM I did pushups, abs and cardio (steps). Right now, I'm off to work again...Icon_sad Actually I shouldn't complain, with the overtime maybe I can catch up a bit financially...KMusicnote

Sad RE: Fitness Diary Round 2
Well, week 2 was no better than week one. Not that it's a legitimate excuse but I did work over 60 hours this past week, and in between work I've just been either taking care of other things or sleeping, but exercise has been getting pushed aside. I'm not giving up though. Anyway, I guess I'll have to register another loss on round 2 of my little game. -disgusted

The main problem I'm having is that my energy levels just seem to be completely spent in between work, and even at work I feel like I'm running on empty. So I've been finding it very hard to drum up the energy to do my exercise. When I start thinking about doing it it just seems like an insurmountable task, even though I know it's not. I'm not sure what the solution is, but I may need to change the game, cuz it's no fun just losing. I'll have to invent a game I can win. I'll be back...

RE: Fitness Diary Round 2
I have decided to join in the effort. In an ideal world, I would be fit. Yes?

I started exercising last week. No weights or gyms, etc, just me and my body.

Thursday, March 22nd, I did 2 sets of ten pushups, 2 sets of 10 situps (left, right, and centre - ouch), 2 sets of 20 squats, 2 sets of 20 calf exercises, 2 sets of 20 side bends (left and right).
Sunday, March 25th, I did all of the above and added a stretch regime (http://www.womensheart.org/content/Exerc...rcise.asp) at the end.
Today, March 29th, I did the same, except increased the sets to 3, rather than 2.

I haven't looked at my diet at all. I still eat and drink what I want, when I want. I'm not keen to change anything. I like what I eat, and I like alcohol.

RE: Fitness Diary Round 2
Well... early last week, I got on a piece of gym equipment after someone with a bad cold, and caught it. I was out of commission for about 6 days with it, and only now feel better. My free trial is up... will probably pay for the first month instead of paying for 6 months in advance until I'm totally sure about this. :) Now that it's spring, I could conceptually do many things to be fit without working out at a gym.... like my garden that I began working in yesterday. But I really think I need at least 2 months in the gym to get my form back I had years ago. I weighed a massive 139 pounds this morning. :)

RE: Fitness Diary Round 2
Welcome John. Well, I've been getting my butt kicked the last week or so. I've worked probably 140 hours in the space of 2 weeks. One day off which I just veged. I was supposed to have 4 days off, during which I was gonna hit the gym hard, then on day two of my days off I got called into work first thing in the morning due to an emergency with my bosses son. Seems like all I've been doing is working, eating and sleeping in recent days.

In any case, I have not given up. I have been making the effort to make healthy food choices. But I have also discovered that at 2am the healthy choices are slim, and it's easy to find myself at Jack in the Box (seems to be about the only thing open). So I need to keep some healthy stuff in the fridge. Buying groceries and cooking has also been getting beaten out in recent days as I just haven't been to the grocery store and have very little in the fridge. For example, right now I'm hungery and exhausted and I don't have the energy to face the grocery store followed up by the kitchen. So I'll probably head back to that little asian place up the street for one of their healthy stir fries.

Oh yeah, been sick as a dog all day today too, had to work tho, came home and collapsed. Anyway, still in the game. Be back...

RE: Fitness Diary Round 2
OK, I've been to the gym for the last 3 consecutive days. My routine is pullups, dips, chest, back, abs and 40 minutes cardio. Then I sweat in the sauna for awhile.

Diet wise, I'm leaning hard toward eating more fruits and veges and less cheeseburgers and fries. I just got home from the gym and I'm eating an orange. My downfall may be beer, just because I enjoy beer after a hard day. But if it proves to inhibit my progress too much, I'll have to cut it back. I don't want to get fanatical and cut it out, but I do need to strike a workable balance that allows me to enjoy life but still stay in shape.

How goes it with thee my fitness friends?

RE: Fitness Diary Round 2
I have failed dismally in the third week of my fitness regime. I went ok in weeks 1 and 2. But last week Axelle and I spent 4 days in Paris. I drank a lot of beer and ate a lot of burgers. When we returned, two friends from Australia came to visit. Lots of drinking.

I'll get back into it this week.

RE: Fitness Diary Round 2
I have lost 3.5 lbs! Yipppeeeeee! The penny has dropped that I am actually eating too much! Being very strict with myself and reducing portion size has really, actually, tangibly worked! Today we run 4 x 2 minutes and 2 x 3 minutes. In the following week, I am so inspired I run 2 x 5 minutes on my own. I text Clare, with delight, to tell her about this amazing achievement! She is thrilled for me! I have 1.5lbs to lose before the first goal deadline of 18/04.
