I've been thinking about this one. The issue I've been trying to resolve in my head is how proposed credo will be numbered firstly, and then how actual credo will be numbered once voted in. I think we discussed this at some length via snail mail, and I know we began using a method involving letter/number combinations, ie., (p/c) 1A for example.

Well, there are a couple questions I've been asking myself. One, what would we call (p/c)1A once it's voted in? Credo 1A? Again, I recall discussing this via snail mail, and I have not yet gone back and looked up what we discussed. (at this point, an online reference to our snailmail correspondence would be handy, no? like, during the course of this post I could add a link to the specific paragraphs or pages in our past discussions that pertain to this issue... oh, well, in due course... Anyway, it has also occurred to me to consider what happens when a credo gets voted down, back to p/c status for review or revision? Just in terms of it's alphanumeric index.

The second question I've been considering is how credo is listed and how their alphanumeric index would affect that. Specifically, I don't like the idea of Credo 1A for example, being perceived as having any priority over Credo 9C for example. Know what I mean?

I'm also wondering whether a (p/c) should remain a unique entity indefinitely, and whether it should be assigned a unique alphanumeric index when it gets voted in as official Credo. LMKYT

So, the proposal I'd like to put forward is that we use a random letter/number generator to create both p/c and credo indexing. I'm thinking of perhaps a 3 digit index such as (p/c)G5T for example, randomly generated. Then that p/c would forever be associated with that index. The random nature would eliminate any perceived precedence of one over any other. 3 alphanumeric digits should suffice for enough variations to last well beyond our lifetimes so that every credo and proposed credo could be assigned a unique index.

Looking at it right now I think the parenthesis and / could be eliminated from proposed credo so that in the case of the above example it would read pcG5T or PCG5T. Looks good to me. LMKYT

Anyway, I've downloaded a random letter/number generator and I'll proceed to use it to index the proposed credo we have discussed to date (pending your feedback on this proposal). BTW, on the website I'm planning to create a PC page where all proposed credo will be listed in no particular order. Then each entry will link to a unique window or web page dedicated to that particular PC. On a given  PC's page would be a detailed description of the PC and links to all past and present discussions regarding it, and links to any other relevant data pertaining to the PC. The same principle would apply to credo itself once we get to that stage. LMKYT

Hi Kenny,
i suppose what you have suggested is good enough, specially with three letter combinations and random identities, both the issues can be resolved. Good suggestion I think. I support it.Thumbsup
