Well, I just accidentally pushed the refresh button and lost the previous draft of this post. Probably a good thing, as I was going off swearing my ass off.

I just saw on TV another report on a 20 year old kid who was killed in Iraq and I see that my reaction to this has gone from sad to fucking pissed off. I've been seeing these reports on TV for the last couple years where they report the latest "casualties" (what the fuck is that word? appropriate perhaps, considering how casually our fucking leaders seem prepared to throw kids in the path of bombs and bullets. I wonder how quick war would screech to a halt if those mother fuckers in charge had to put their own lives in the firing line) and I've gone from shaking my head sadly to shaking my fist and wanting to throw the fucking TV through the wall. (hmmm, looks like I'm swearing my ass off this time too )

Anyway guys, I'm quite certain that putting an end to war will become a cornerstone credo at iwf along with ending poverty. In fact, I just came across this site which highlights the relationship between the two http://www.abolishwar.org.uk/home.shtml So I'd like to throw this topic on the table. I anticipate it will be an ongoing one for years to come.

Great Kenny!  I'm glad you're pissed!!!  You should be too!  It fucking breaks my heart (and pisses me off) to know that it is other people's kids who are fighting and dying in this misguided war--a war of choice.  If there was a mandatory draft, it would have been a completely different story, and the mess that the Iraq war has become would have been stemmed probably before it even started.

You are 100% correct about how things would change if these chickenhawks had to put their own sorry asses, or the asses of their children on the line.  I listen to these mother fuckers who are long on rhertoric and short on action and I can't help but think the same thing...that if Bush's daughters were in Iraq, I doubt he would be saying "Bring 'em on!" to the insurgents.  Seems the biggest chickenhawks who got out of serving in Vietnam (like Limbaugh, Hannity, Cheney, Bush, etc.) are the ones who perform the biggest smearjobs on vets who fucking put their lives on the line for our country in the past.

It heartens me to know that some people are coming to their senses and seeing this sham for what it is.
